Daniel Brodie is a NY-based freelance Projection Designer and Multimedia Artist (Video Designer/Photographer/Director/Producer) who specializes in motion graphics, environmental graphics, and print. As a youngster, Brodie lit up the local community theater stages in productions including Charlottes Web, The Frog Prince and several other character-building (and in no way emasculating) childrens plays.
As a teenager, Brodie studied at the
Arizona School for the Arts, a college-preparatory performing arts high school located in Phoenix. He spent his free time gathering friends to star in his first films, rehearsing, rehearsing, rehearsing and falling in love with pretty girls.
While earning his BA in Theatre from Arizona State Universitys
Herberger College of the Arts, he directed several productions with Prism Theater, including
Rummy Starker Love Fest and
Sexual Perversity in Chicago for which he earned East Valley Tribune Spotlight Awards for Best Avant Garde and Best Director/Best Comedy, respectively. Brodie served as Graphic Designer/Technology Specialist of the ASU Theater Departments Student Production Board. His wide range of roles both behind and in front of the camera and curtain came to include Director, Producer, Stage Manager, and Designer for props, lighting, and sound. It was during his college years that Brodie began specializing his skills to focus on Directing and Media Design.
In 2006 Brodie co-created the motion picture company
Studio Rêver that has since produced four original films.
Neptunus Rex, a film produced by Brodie, was selected as the Best Student Film by the grand jury of the New Hampshire Film Festival. In 2007 Brodie relocated to Brooklyn, NY where he lent his video artistry to
Basil Twist, a celebrated puppeteer in productions including
Behind the Lid and
Arias With a Twist. Most recently, Brodie designed
Performing Tribute for the September 11th Families Association and assisted on the Broadway play
To Be or Not to Be, and the Off-Broadway musical
Rock of Ages.Brodie lives in Brooklyn with his lovely girlfriend, Caitlin, cat, Margot.com, and a rotating circle of starving artist friends. He can also juggle and sneeze on cue.
